Kenny and I discovered early on when making prints, we like to use the entire negative. When setting up a negative, you try to align it for the best composition possible. What we found out is that we did most of that through the view finder of the camera. That is why there are black lines around the prints. We used the ENTIRE negative in making the print. It was something we stumbled upon by accident, and something we felt added that an extra touch to the entire print.
As my father always told me, the three most important rules in photography are "composition, composition, composition."

Yellowstone 2005
In June of 2005, I was fortunate enough to travel to Yellowstone National Park with my best friend Amy and her family. It was an amazing trip. It was the farthest North I have ever been. Living in Texas all my life, I am used to seeing the sun rise in the East and set in the West. I will never forget waking up one morning in Montana, and seeing the sun rise not far from where it had set the night before.
These photographs are just a tiny portion of the memories I took away from that trip.

"Around the Bend"
"Big Bear"
"Yellowstone dyptech"
You may be wondering as to why there is a black bar down the middle of the photograph. That is because this photograph is actually comprised of two separate photographs. I did not realize how closely the horizons lined up until I had printed both pictures and held them next to each other. The piece you see here was actually put together in Photoshop.

Here are a few of my favorite photographs. The first four are traditonal black & white photographs except for "Don't Walk." That one was taken with a traditional film camera, but the negative was scanned into my computer and altered digitally. The original negative was very dark. The last two were taken with my digital camera. On "Extreme Jack" I used several close-up filters to get the high details.
